Socialization Group Therapy
A structured space to build the everyday social skills that daily life quietly demands.
A space to practice
Learning, together.
Socialization groups are focused, skills-based groups designed for children, teens, and adults who want to strengthen their ability to connect — to make friends, read social cues, manage conflict, and feel more at ease in the everyday interactions that make up a life.
Members work at their own pace, on shared goals, in a supportive and non-judgmental space. Our clinicians blend evidence-based frameworks with warm, in-the-moment coaching so what happens in the group actually translates into daily life.
What you gain
Three things a socialization group does well.
Coached in the moment
Clinicians offer real-time feedback as social interactions unfold — bridging the gap between what you know and what you can actually do.
A safe practice room
The group itself becomes a low-stakes lab where members can try new behaviors, get things wrong, and be met with curiosity instead of judgment.
Transferable skills
What clicks in group carries into classrooms, offices, and family gatherings. Members leave each week with something small and specific to try.
What we focus on

Every group is tailored to who is in the room — the practice targets are matched to what members most want to work on.

- Managing conflict and repair
- Group entry and joining play

- Emotion recognition and regulation
- Assertiveness without aggression
- Handling teasing and peer pressure
- Interviewing and workplace skills
- Dating and adult social contexts
What to expect
Socialization groups blend structured activities — role plays, games, guided conversations, and video review — with the natural social practice that happens when a small group meets consistently. Sessions run weekly, typically for 60 or 90 minutes, and clinicians coach in the moment so learning translates into daily life.
Benefits of the work
Research consistently shows that skills-based group work produces meaningful, generalizable change for individuals of every age. Members build genuine peer connection, gain confidence in situations that once felt overwhelming, and develop practical tools that they can carry into classrooms, offices, and family life.
For children and teens, we partner closely with parents and — with your consent — with schools and other providers so the growth in group is reinforced across every setting the young person moves through.
